I provide a full range of medical and surgical dermatologic services for people of all ages at my Ponsonby practice.
GP referral is desirable, but not required for consultation. I would prefer to keep your GP informed.
This is my practice alone, so that when you come for a consultation or procedure you will always be seen and treated only by a consultant dermatologist with over 25 years experience.
My goal is to give you the best advice and full range of treatment options explained in terms that you can understand. I will work with you giving you informed choices to ensure the best possible outcome.
Although I manage most medical and surgical problems myself, I will always offer options of referral to another type of specialist, private or public service if this will give you the best and most cost-effective outcome.

DETECTING AND SCREENING FOR SKIN CANCER
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in New Zealand. 80% of all new cancers each year arise in the skin. New Zealand has the the highest melanoma rate in the world. Squamous and basal cell carcinoma are even more common. Early detection is vital. A regular check from a specialist dermatologist is the best way to ensure this.
SKIN SURGERY
I offer specialist skin surgery for melanoma and other skin cancers as well as benign lesions. I have managed over 2000 melanomas in the last 25 years. I can offer a wide range of procedures including excision with flaps and grafts if needed, biopsy, shave excisions and diathermy. Surgery is performed in our comfortable fully equipped outpatient theatre avoiding unecessary private hospital costs. We are regularly audited to comply with the NZSI Office Sugery standard.
MANAGEMENT OF MEDICAL DERMATOLOGY PROBLEMS
